Site Manager

Job role

To manage or assist in the management of a construction project to ensure compliance with Safety Legislation and company procedures, ensuring quality workmanship is delivered within the timescales and budgets set by our clients.

Key responsibilities

BACKGROUND

  • Experience from a trade background beneficial with management experience of construction projects within various sectors and forms of construction

TECHNICAL

  • Requires a general knowledge of Construction Methodologies and Commercial awareness

Planning

  • Assist in the preparation of Construction Programmes and disseminate to sub-contractors
  • Understanding of subcontractors workscope and interfacing of operations

Statutory Controls

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations

Safety

  • Fully implement the aims and objectives of the company Safety Policy and Safety Management System
  • CITB SMSTS Certification and/or CSCS Supervisory / Management Card

MANAGEMENT
Labour

  • Support in the management of all hourly paid employees/subcontractors
  • Organise labour force to carry out the work

Plant

  • Organise the plant requirements and plant programme for the project

Staff

  • Work as a Team member with other staff
  • Assist with the recruitment of Supervisory, Trades & Labour

Record

  • Site Diaries and Progress Records for sharing with clients and managment
  • Legislative and Statutory Records are kept

Subcontractors

  • Maintain a good relationship with all subcontractors whilst ensuring that their work is carried out to the client’s and Douglas & Stewart Construction satisfaction

QUALITY

  • Implement the Quality System on site to ensure high standards of quality delivery
